I’m proudly West Country born and bred, growing up in a small rural community, and I’ve wanted to make television for as long as I can remember — there was never really a Plan B!
After studying Film and Television Production at Plymouth College of Art and Design, I was accepted onto ITV’s Media Graduate Training Scheme, training in live directing, production and camera work — skills I still enjoy returning to today — alongside like-minded creatives, including a then-unknown Sacha Baron Cohen.
I then spent six formative years at ITV West working across documentaries, studio entertainment, live sport and factual entertainment formats, where I was trusted with the creative freedom to produce 56 hours a year of entertainment programming for young adults — delivering rating winning shows including A Trip in the Cosmic Buggy and 2bdiscoverd.com, both RTS and Broadcast Award winners.
I went on to become a Producer and Director at ITV Studios, working across some of the UK’s biggest and best-loved shows, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Love Island, Soccer Aid, Hell’s Kitchen, Paris Hilton’s BFF and even a reboot of Challenge Anneka!
From there, I’m proud to have gone on to help create hit shows enjoyed by millions, and I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with brilliant talent and teams, always guided by the same instinct that got me started — telling bold stories that entertain, surprise and are full of heart.
I love being an entertainer and giving people something to look forward to, but documentary has also allowed me to explore storytelling in a deeper, more insightful way. I’m endlessly curious about people and human stories, and I love exploring the world through a lens — taking audiences to faraway places and unexpected corners.
Over a decade ago, I co-founded Appeal Films to make content that would raise awareness and help raise funds for charities working with vulnerable children, both home and abroad, work I am still passionate about today. Building on this success, we incorported Appeal TV in 2017, to produce non-scripted television, entering Televisual’s Top 100 Independents within two years and achieving a £4 million turnover.
I thrive on working with the very best talent, challenging each other to push boundaries and discover new, surprising ways to tell stories. I’m genuinely excited about what the future holds — particularly the opportunities that new technology and new ways of making television continue to unlock.
I believe television and content can do more than fill time — it can entertain, lift spirits, give joy, engage audiences and activate them.
